The desire to explore and reimagine the typical “duplex” residence found in housing communities around the United States and Europe, led to the designing of a new prototype that creates a much higher level of interaction with those who share the building.

The spatial layout follows a typical residential arrangement, with areas for entertaining guests on the ground level and private areas, such as the bedrooms, on the second level. Also located on the second level is a shared, central roof deck. This roof deck, as well as a shared covered patio on the ground level helps develop relationships between those occupying the residences.
